In a surprising collaboration that challenges traditional forecasts, the game developer has announced an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Questline Disclosed

According to the official release, "A strange confrontation pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where rumors of prohibited ceremonies and terrifying transformations reverberate through the darkness." The storyline presents a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a important location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a clandestine group.

The questline centers on "peculiar trials and a fearsome enemy" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Locations and Transformations

The trailer features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview concludes with a striking moment showing a character, presumably the hostage, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Rewards and Additional Material

Players who finish the mission will acquire an exclusive katana alongside numerous objects secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

Third Free Story Addition

This update also adds the game's newest no-cost story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive abilities: Naoe introduces a performative version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
